What is a lug butterfly valve What is the difference between a lug butterfly valve and other butterfly valves

What is a lug butterfly valve:

1. When the lug butterfly valve and the pipeline are installed, the flanges on both sides are installed with bolts, so that the mesh body and the valve body sealing surface are not squeezed by the bolts, which is good for the sealing life.

2. The lugs can be easily installed in the discharge position.

3. There are certain defects in the connection method of the wafer. When the bolt is installed in the pipeline, the bolt squeezes the entire butterfly valve body between the flanges on both sides. The bolt is relatively long, and the resulting deformation is also large, easy to leak, and convex. The lug bolts are relatively short and do not need to pass through the entire valve body

The difference between lug butterfly valve and flange butterfly valve:

Flanged butterfly valve, generally the bolt hole is a through hole, which is slightly larger than the bolt, and is clamped by the flange; lug type, the bolt hole is matched with the thread, and is installed with full-threaded stud bolts, and one side of the nut is removed, Twist the bolt into the bolt hole of the valve, and then tighten the lug butterfly valve with through holes and internal threads. If it is a through hole, the bolt is long and runs through it; if it is an internal thread, the bolt is shorter, and the two sides of the valve are installed separately. Some small-diameter wafer butterfly valves have lugs, and some do not, but some large-diameter valves should have lugs. There are two kinds of holes on the lugs, one is a through hole, and its function is to locate the valve pipe coaxially during installation. Simply put, with these holes, the installation will be much easier. The clamping force generated by the tightening of the two flanges is fixed. It is mentioned here that if a flange has eight holes, the valve does not necessarily have eight holes, generally four holes, and two one. The other is that the hole above the lug is a threaded hole. Such a valve should be called a single-clamp valve correctly, because, in this way, the valve is generally installed at the end of the pipeline. At this time, the pipeline has only one flange, and the valve It is fixed on the pipe by the tightening force generated between the bolt and the threaded hole on the valve.
