What maintenance and upkeep tasks should be carried out for the electric wafer butterfly valve on a regular basis?

Regular maintenance and upkeep of the electric wafer butterfly valve can ensure its stable performance and extend its service life. The main maintenance tasks include the following aspects:

Appearance inspection and cleaning

Surface cleaning: Regularly remove dust, oil stains, rust and other debris from the surface of the electric wafer butterfly valve. Use a clean cloth or appropriate cleaning agent for wiping to ensure the surface of the valve is clean and tidy, preventing the accumulation of impurities from causing corrosion or affecting its operation.

Coating inspection: Check if the coating on the valve surface is peeling or damaged. If the coating is damaged, it should be repaired in time to prevent the valve body from being corroded by the external environment.

Identification inspection: Confirm if the identification on the valve, such as the valve number, nominal pressure, and nominal diameter, is clearly visible. If the identification is blurry, it should be re-marked to facilitate identification and maintenance.

Mechanical component maintenance

Valve stem lubrication: Regularly lubricate the valve stem, apply suitable lubricating grease on the valve stem surface to ensure smooth movement during up and down or rotation, reduce friction, and prevent the valve stem from getting stuck. At the same time, it can also reduce the load on the electric actuator.

Bearing inspection: Check if the bearings of the valve are worn, loose or making abnormal sounds. If there are any abnormalities, the bearings should be replaced in time to ensure that the rotating parts of the valve can operate normally.

Connection component tightening: Check all connection parts of the valve, such as flange connections and bolt connections, to ensure they are tightly fastened without any looseness. For loose bolts, they should be tightened promptly to prevent leakage or other faults caused by loose connections.

Sealing performance maintenance

Seal surface inspection: Regularly inspect the seal surfaces of the valve for wear, scratches, corrosion, etc. Through observation or using professional detection tools, check if there are any defects. If there are problems with the seal surface, repair or replace the sealing element according to the degree of damage.

Sealing test: Regularly conduct sealing performance tests, using water pressure or air pressure methods to check if there is any leakage when the valve is closed. If leakage is found, investigate the cause and repair it to ensure the good sealing performance of the valve.

Electric actuator maintenance

Electrical connection inspection: Check if the electrical connection of the electric actuator is firm, with no looseness, oxidation or corrosion. Ensure that the wires and cables are not damaged or aged. If there are problems, repair or replace them promptly to prevent electrical failures.

Motor inspection: Check the operating conditions of the motor, including temperature, noise, vibration, etc., to ensure they are normal. Measure the insulation resistance of the motor to ensure good insulation performance. If there are any abnormalities, promptly carry out maintenance or replacement.

Control element inspection: Inspect the control elements of the electric actuator, such as controllers, contactors, relays, etc., to check if they are working properly, if the parameter settings are correct, and promptly clean the dust and debris on the control elements to ensure good heat dissipation.

Other maintenance tasks

Filter cleaning: If a filter is installed in front of the valve, regularly clean the impurities in the filter to prevent the filter from clogging and affecting the normal operation of the valve.

Transmission device inspection: Inspect the transmission device of the electric wafer butterfly valve, such as gears, chains, belts, etc., to ensure it is flexible and free from sticking or slipping. Regularly lubricate and adjust the transmission device to ensure its transmission efficiency.

Data recording and analysis: After each maintenance and upkeep, record the content of the maintenance, the time, the problems found and the handling results in detail. Through the analysis of these data, potential problems of the valve can be detected in advance, and more reasonable maintenance plans can be formulated.
